Laser hair removal works by targeting hair follicles. The laser goes from light energy to heat energy as soon as it finds a root, which quickly destroys the base of the targeted hair follicles. Once the root dies, it loses its ability to produce hair. The leftover hair will then fall from the root base.
It takes a minimum of six treatments in to see long-lasting results, and treatments are spaced out a minimum of four weeks apart. Although you require several treatments for long-lasting results, you will see a difference with just one treatment. The reason for the monthly appointments is to ensure you are targeting all hair follicles in each stage of growth. Your medical esthetician will go through a thorough consultation to ensure you are spacing out your treatments correctly according to several factors, such as health history.
